Day Six - The Gold Mine Tour
The turquoise stripes in the middle of the picture are oxidized copper stalactites. They are about an inch long and 28 years old
The white patch in the middle of the picture is quartz. This is what hard rock miners look for when surveying a mine. In the quartz you will fine all kinds of minerals and ore, including gold
This is a wall of dynamite. The pattern here is an example of how miners would drill into the walls and place the explosives
Here is a deep shaft that goes back quite a ways
